Location of the Day: Puerto Madero

In this edition of Location of the Day, I want to tell you about a district that is the opposite the previous one.

San Telmo is one of the oldest neighborhoods; In this case, I'll show you one of the newest: Puerto Madero.

A great feature of this district is that directly borders the Rio de la Plata, so the landscapes are unique. In addition, the proximity to downtown allows us to reach this area in just minutes.

This modern area started to be urbanized in 1990, so all the buildings are recent. It's the district with the tallest buildings and the only skyscrapers in all the City of Buenos Aires, with the river forming a beautiful landscape in both day and night.

Puerto Madero is around four docks, in where we can find from bars and restaurants to cinemas. This area is known for having the best parrillas and meat restaurants in the city. If you want to know the best Argentinean steak, La Caballeriza restaurant is a must. On the other hand, the Tren del Este (Eastern railway) runs through the four docks, allowing convenient and cheap travel throughout the area.

Further south, just a few blocks away, we have the riverside and nature reserve along the coastal south, a walk in the middle of the marginal forest of Buenos Aires, where in addition to native species, we can see beautiful estuaries and natural landscapes within a walk of downtown Buenos Aires.
